Sean "Sryan" Adam Stephen Bruen (11 November 2000) is an Irish singer/songwriter/pianist/teacher/clarinetist/meteorologist
/drummer /recordist/flautist/poet. In some cases, he is known as a "genius of music". Bruen wrote his first song 'Party All the Time' (October 13, 2012) when he was just 11. He wrote his first composition 'Marching Round the Town' (October 16, 2014) when he was just 13.
On the 14 August 2012, Bruen bought a speaker and he was feeling excited for doing a video of 'Somebody That I Used to Know' by Gotye on Facebook and so he did. It brought him some popularity and he soon became obsessed with uploading videos of himself singing, however, he was given a lot of bad comments on some.
Bruen started learning the piano on the 5 November 2012, a week before his 12th birthday. He found it a fun and easy instrument to play and he was highly motivated at it and he said "I'm a future Emeli Sande!". Although, when he played hits like Olly Murs' hit 'Dance With Me Tonight', he found it hard. After getting honours on his elementary piano grade on 2 May 2014, he was shocked he didn't get a distinction and in order to get one, he decided to get a piano for Christmas 2014. On the 23 December, his piano arrived at his house and he played it non-stop for 5 hours in order to perfect his songs and he loved playing it most of all from then!
On the 21 March 2014, Bruen was inspired by his friend Dylan to join his marching band and so he did. On that night, he went to the Donahies Community School to join the band in which where they perform every Friday night. Bruen was given a tour and he got to have a listen/play to each of the instruments which were Drums, Saxophones, Trumpets, Euphoniums, Trombones and Clarinets. He chose clarinet because he thought it would be funny if he was like Squidward. After a few weeks of practising the notes, his first song chosen by the teacher was Tequila. Bruen found it very hard at the start but around September, he finally perfected it and then moved onto his next chosen sing which was Paddy Reilly's cover of 'Fields of Athenry', it took him about only 5 weeks to get it perfect. On the 20 July 2014, Bruen did his first march for the annual Donaghmede festival.
On the 30 August 2014, Bruen did his second march for the American football Croke Park event and he marched down Henry Street in Dublin.
On the 3 November 2014, Bruen's cousin's birthday gift for him came and it was a drum. Bruen found the drum fun and easy to play. Even though he didn't get any lessons, he suddenly could do a drum roll.
On the 18 November 2014, Bruen did his first concert at the Sean O'Casey Theatre in East Wall. He enjoyed it so much that he wished there were lots more nights like this. All of his friends from school came just for him and a few girls too whom wanted to take a picture with him.
On the 7 May 2015, Bruen joined some of his friends of the night of the 18 November 2014 in the Liberty Hall showcase which he sang his song 'Baby (To Love Again)'. It was the best night of his life as he made so many new friends as well as loads of people shouting for him. Friends he already met that other night included Claudia Cooney.
On the 16 July 2015, Bruen performed his debut single 'Never Give Up' and pop song 'Madrid' at the National Concert Hall, Dublin as part of Songschool.
On the 17 July 2015, Bruen officially recorded and uploaded his debut music video recorded by Kevin Carrick, sung and planned out by Sryan Bruen at the National Concert Hall, Dublin. It is called 'Never Give Up'. Also Bruen's debut album 'S.R.Y.A.N.' made it onto iTunes!
On the 14 August 2015, Bruen entered the UK Songwriting Contest with over 30 songs and 2 of them became semi-finalists with both of scoring 7.
